The Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB) has today launched a CrowdJustice Campaign to help them end Deliveroo exploitation and #DeliverJustice now!

Deliveroo – currently valued as a multi-billion pound company – is denying its workers basic rights such as the right to a guaranteed minimum wage, holiday pay and trade union rights.

Abandoned by their employer and abandoned by the government, a courageous group of Deliveroo couriers decided to come together and fight back. First unionising with the Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB) and then launching a ground-breaking legal challenge against this food delivery behemoth, these young couriers proved that nobody is too small to take on the powerful.

Already straddled with a £10,000 bill from an earlier legal battle with Deliveroo, the IWGB lawyers will be going to the High Court to overturn a decision preventing the couriers from appealing the case.

The IWGB is the leading union for precarious and low-paid workers. We have won several landmark cases against so-called “gig economy” companies, including Uber, Addison Lee and CitySprint.
