John Nicholson

is a retired legal aid immigration barrister. He previously managed the (now-closed) Bury Law Centre and helped to establish the Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit. Together with others, he campaigned from 2008/2010 against council and government cuts (“Manchester Advice”, South Manchester Law Centre) and established Greater Manchester Law Centre, which continues to fight for free access to justice.
